  • First wapi release

    July 14, 2008 at 16:22:25 CEST

Wapi is somewhat 80% finished, so I think it's ready for the first release. The zipfile includes the wapi code as well as some examples taken from byNotes.

You'll notice there are authentication methods for Basic, Digest and OAuth. However, only the former is usable for now, since the other two depend on Django applications which are't ready for release (but are likely to be ready before this week ends).

If you try this, leave some feedback in a comment ;). I advise you to not use this code into production yet, since the API may change in the near future.

Well, it seems that wapi is very close to modelviews that we are working on with Will.

It's worth looking at http://code.larlet.fr/django-modelviews/ (and probably http://code.larlet.fr/django-oauth/ too). I hope that we can merge our efforts in order to get a good solution. Documentation is available at http://code.larlet.fr/doc/

    Hi David,
I think wapi and modelviews don't share more than the class-based view approach. While wapi currently supports only REST, the goal behind wapi is abstract the API exposition functions (like the transport and the formatting) and let the site API be plugged into it. As for django-oauth, I saw the announcement yesterday in the OAuth list, but my OAuth application was already written by that moment.

    Hi fiam,

Thanks for your clear answer. I agree that the goal of modelviews is to be the website and not an app which is plugged into it.

Concerning OAuth, let me know if you have any question, feedback is really appreciated.

I only had time for a quick look at your code, but it seems to be quite similar to what I wrote a couple month ago primarily for my own use. I intended to publish at some point, but never got to finish it (although the existing functionality is working and deployed).

So after seeing your post, I quickly created a bazaar branch and pushed it to launchpad (apparently not scanned yet):

Feel free to have a look at it and to borrow ideas/code/whatever as applicable. I don't have at this point planned to work on it further.

I opine that this is not the best decision to waste valuable time performing the essays. A lot of people come other way! They don’t create the <a href="http://www.supremeessays.com/research-papers-for-sale.html">research papers for sale</a> by their own efforts. They <a href="http://www.supremeessays.com/purchase-term-paper.html">purchase term paper</a> at the progressive essays writing service.

It's not so easy to buy a perfect already written essay, essentially if you are concerned. I advise you to notice <a href="http://www.qualityessay.com">buy custom essay papers</a> and to be devoid from disbelief that your work will be done by writing service
